Cecil Thokoane, who has vast experience in the ICT and professional services environment. Non-core administrative activities are outsourced. Cecil Thokoane: Born in Soweto, Cecil Thokoane matriculated at St. David’s Marist College in 1985 and went on to complete a B.Sc. degree at the University of the Western Cape. 

He entered the IT industry as a trainee MVS Systems programmer at Engen Petroleum (formerly Mobil S.A.) in Cape Town, where he spent three years. After leaving Engen, Cecil then returned to Johannesburg where he joined the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in the capacity of Facilities Consultant. From the JSE, Cecil moved on to join IBM South Africa as an IT Specialist, his main area of expertise being storage management in the large systems arena. He has worked extensively in the Sales, Marketing and Business Development units of organisations such as USKO software, African Middleware Corporation and Dimension Data. 

Cecil’s extensive IT and IT marketing background has seen him work across a spectrum of vertical markets including the Finance, Telecomms and quasi-government arenas. He has held the following roles: Operations Executive, Service Management Executive and Public Sector Executive at Internet Solutions, a division of Dimension Data. He was also the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Alliances Executive for Dimension Data Middle East and Africa. He holds a Masters in Business Leadership (MBL) degree from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and sits on the board of the Unisa SBL.
